The Road King.... It IS a phenomenon in guitar amplifiers there is no doubt whatsoever in my mind. The design is the accumulation of many different pre/power amps from Mesa Boogie all rolled in to one mean mother...

Road King

The sheer intent that this amp displays has got to be felt (yes really) to be seen in the correct perspective. While these Road King amps are made to rock, they can achieve in my view almost any sound that you can think of, from the most pristine clean to the dirtiest drive that you can think of and then some.

In the UK these are basically very rare indeed and topping £4000.00 with the green leather (US$7500.00) we all know that some fat cat is making lots of money from importing them - I do not condone this greedy action by them - in fact they should be featured on my www.greedybastards.co.uk website..... but maybe that's just too good for them....

Anyway, back to the amp... It is really 4 separate amps in one and utilizes 6L6, and EL34 as well as other combinations in the rectifier area of the amp from 1, 2 or three rectifier valves and there's even a transistor type of rectifier if you really do want to get the full 300 Watts out of this beast!

Here are a few shots of the rest of the amp and Ill update this section along with the TriAxis in the not too distant future.... (maybe)

I never did complete this section - and have sold the Road King - so I never will :-(

But check out the other things I've been doing with my kit and listen to the results
